Erhsha Bay Battery, Keelung (Haimen-Tienhsien)
Erhsha Bay Battery, Keelung (Haimen-Tienhsien)Erhsha Bay Battery has experienced the Opium War, Sino-French War, and Taiwan Ceding War in the year of Yimo. In the southeast of the city gate is a Chinese gate built by stone. "Haimen-Tienhsien" (Risky Haimen) was inscribed on the arched door. It's presumed that there should be a gate tower above the arch. Although the tower was collapsed, the gate remained intact. Battlements with shooting holes could be found on the walls beside the arch.

Behind the arch, the platform with wall bases should be the campsites in the old days. The two batteries above the stairs facing the north should have been used for controlling the harbor. The three barbettes in the relics indicate that there should be more than three artilleries. The thickness and height of the wall show that these are western artilleries. Semicircle traces could still be seen on the chassis ground. The ammunition depot with plat bench beside the barbette is now defined as first rank historic relic.
